Welcome to the First Congregational Church web site! "First Church" is a great place to look for God, learn more and grow deeply in your faith. For all of the warmth, welcome and inspiration you receive, First Church can't be beat.

We work very hard to make First Church a home that ministers to the entire family. We have classes, study groups, youth activities, a nursery, and fellowship groups . and if there isn't enough that meets your need, we invite you to join us and work on putting something together that does.

Congregational churches are a bit unique in the church world. We are what is called a "covenantal" church instead of a "creedal" church. This means that, whereas most churches have a specific statement of doctrine that members must adhere to, we don't. We have a covenant instead. We covenant (make a promise) with one another to seek God's truth through the scriptures, acknowledging that what one person understands it to be may differ from another person's interpretation. We simply come to worship together - loving God - not having to believe exactly the same way.
